Falcons Premier Begin Season with 5-1 thumping
The Falcons Men's Premier Team started their season on a real high beating up on Gatineau Premier 5-1. On the beautiful OZ Optics pitch in Carp the Falcons running and ball possession was too much for the Gatineau squad who lacked answers all night. The Falcons dominated the early proceedings and earned an early penalty for their effort which they missed. Last years team would have taken awhile to rebound but this year's squad simply saw it as a hiccup and fought harder. Striking sensation Jason Fredericks opened scoring with a real classy finish to take an early 1-0 lead. Almost immediately Gatineau responded with their best effort of the night. Tied 1-1 the Falcons tightened their grip on the game and Jason Frederick ruthlessly scored 2 more goals to earn the natural hat trick and really kill off Gatineau. Fredericks was unstoppable all night. Tyller Farrell-Rose capped a dominating game in the middle of midfield by running past 4 players and smashing in an unstoppable drive to take a 4-1 lead. The Falcons were really firing on all cylinders and veteran Stephen O'Kane capped off the scoring with a cheeky goal by rounding the keeper in style before cooly slotting home. Rookie's Djinny Constant and Joe Maniero had impressive debuts to cap an outstanding start to the season.

The Falcons got better all year and really look to be flying heading into the summer. The on;y team to take any points off undefeated St. Anthony's the Falcons squad grew all year. Newcomers Nick Sonsini, Robert Barker and Sean Mackey really impressed besides veterans Derrick Volpi, Stephen O'Kane, Steve Schwendt, Dan Bedford, Jason Whiting and Joe Bonacci. Second year players Matt Volpi, Brody Kritsch, Tristan Roscoe and Gino Urbisci rounded out the impressive squad. Look for these names to make an impact on this years Premier league.

8th Annual Falcons Kids Christmas Party
The Kids Christmas party was held on December 5 th , the first Sunday of December, a tradition that will be maintained for those making schedules for next year. We have to do it that far in advance to insure Santa is there, after all, there is nobody busier in December!
Our hosts, Santa and Cedarhill Golf & Country Club, put out a great spread of treats for the kids and adults. Thanks go to Elias at Cedarhill for providing the treats and Alex for keeping the parents happy.
The kids started off with decorating their own Gingerbread cookies with icing, Smarties, sparkles et al. I had no idea you could put that much on a cookie! Carolin had also arranged for Magician, Andrew Barbour, to entertain the kids and grown ups alike. Andrew did not let the audience down with trick after trick and each child received a balloon animal, hat or sword. Thanks to Andrew for doing an awesome job. Then came the time all “well behaved” kids were waiting for, the arrival of Santa. Santa did an excellent job and seemed to be in good spirits, his “Ho! Ho! Ho!” seemed to have an extra zip! The kids all left smiling. Thank you Santa!
Special thanks to Carolin Smith who has organized this event for 8 years now. There was a chance it was only going to be 7 years but with the help of some keen Falcons Bohemian players the on again off again 8 th event was a success. The positive out of the initial indifference is Carolin now has enough volunteers for a committee for next years party.
We have already booked December 4 th , 2005 , 1:30 at Cedarhill Golf & Country Club for next year's event. Hopefully it's enough notice, please hold off on your RSVP until November.

Falcons Quiz Night
The Falcons Quiz Night was held on November 27 th at PenDragon Pub on Merivale Road . Although it is always hard t o gauge success on advance ticket sales the event ended up making over $500.00 for the Club. Katie McDougald and her ladies managed to sell 19 tickets, contributing hugely to the realization of the events potential! Even teams like the Glen Falcons MR3 team bought a substantial number of tickets knowing full well they were double booked and could not attend, with exception to Stephen Crowe, who was sure he would win the event single handedly. Stephen only goes by the one name now because “he ate crowe”.
There may have been grounds for a protest as the winning team may have had a few too many players but most of the team was just there to drink. The Wanderers team run by Sandy Curran won the event. Sandy showed off his Bible study skills answering Exodus as the second book in the Bible. The Catholic school teacher and others shouted out Deuteronomy when everybody knows that Deuteronomy is the 5 th book following Leviticus and Numbers. Thank God we had excellent leadership!
Once again Gord Smith did an excellent job spinning some tunes while keeping the masses at bay. Gord's quizzes are 5 out of 5 for entertainment value. He also does quizzes at the Rangers Supporters Club ( http://clik.to/orsc ) if you fancy another crack at some of his trivia.
Thanks to Ryan Fernandes of Fiamma's for always helping out with prizes. For those of you who don't know Fiamma's ( http://www.stevex.org/restaurants/ShowRestaurant.aspx?id=717 ), a touch of class in Barrhaven.
Once again Terry and Rhiannon helped out big time. The obvious aid is the facility but they also donated the majority of the prizes and sold countless tickets from behind the bar. They did participate in the actual quiz but when asked about their placing at the end of the night Terry said he didn't try because he wanted others to win the great prizes he donated. What a great sport!
